Water logged..

Hello all!

Here's a series of sculptures I've been working on for the last couple months. I have been slowly chipping away at these guys and realised I had a bit of a back log, so I thought I ought a send them out into the ether of the web and see what people think.

If your curious about any of my work or have any great ideas, references, techniques or product suggestion or even just a better way of doing things - hit me up here!

Thanks to those of you who continue to follow this little creative endeavour of mine.

Tidal Tyranny + Workshop

Workshop Fun

OK.
So about a month or so ago I was approached by a good friend of mine who thought it would be a great idea to run a workshop. I have never ran a workshop of any kind, so I thought why not!

Frankly the idea kind of scares me a little but non the less it will be a great experience for me
and for anyone who is interested in my work and my process.

So here we are - I'm a running a driftwood sculpting workshop at Pataka Gallery in Porirua
on the 6th of December. It will start at 11 am and go till 4pm.
$50 for the day.

All materials will be supplied, how ever if you have any great pieces of driftwood or seaweed you think might be a great addition feel free to bring it along!

Only 15 spots and they are filling up quick. So if you would like to come along or get more information please email me at
che.thorpe@gmail.com to secure a spot.

Thank you!!!!

Also this Tidal Tyrant below will be for sale at Black coffee in Newtown.

Eastern tides

Firstly I want to thank everyone who came down and supported my exhibition at Deluxe Cafe
What an amazing first solo exhibition, I'm still awe struck that I sold 11 out of my 15 Sculptures.
The support and enthusiasm towards my work was inspiring, thank you!
I'd like to thank all the staff for processing all the sales!

I have named this new series of drifters the "Eastern Tides", for no matter where I go on this island, eventually the tidal pull of my home on the east coast becomes too strong to resist.
Gisborne, on the East coast of New Zealand.

These creations below are the beginning of a new series that I will be exhibiting at home in Gisborne
at my sister and her husband's new Design store / Gallery / Family hub,
appropriately named "The Family Design Store", located on Ormond Rd next to the Ballance St Dairy.

The exhibition will start in approximately in months time, but keep watching my blog for work updates and the confirmed dates.

Thanks!
